By using intelligent design, introducing colours, shapes and textures to playgrounds
Bartholomew Landscaping encourage flowing movement and imaginative play. Using these
techniques to define key areas we are able to create the ultimate multi use flexible
space, with a range features for both active play and quieter areas for social interaction
and study.
We want to create outdoor environments where everyone can have fun; that are safe
and secure whilst still keeping children active and intrigued. We believe strongly
in the inclusion of natural products and materials. Encouraging pupils to plant
their own areas through the use of educational planting beds has proved a great
success and as a result children become very attached to their play gardens as they
watch them grow and change over the seasons.
Another important part of Education in the future will be Understanding Sustainability
and outdoor spaces will play an important role in creating the Optimal Learning
Environment. Nature is also becoming an increasingly important teaching tool; this
is even more so within London where many children have little or no regular access
to outdoor spaces.
Bartholomew Landscaping aim to transform playgrounds into a more natural, inspirational
spaces creating interesting and exciting features that help children play and provide
them with additional access to the 6 areas of learning, as stated in the Early Years
Foundation Stage Statutory Framework.

Bartholomew Landscaping are design and build contractors. We like to work closely
with the teachers and the children with the aim of producing a wonderful scheme
tailored to the individual schools needs; the age and number of children using the
space; and to an agreed budget if necessary.
If the design meets with your approval we will then install the project using our
own skilled labour supervised by our in house experienced Landscape Architects and
project managers
