Our client acquired a neighbouring property and sought to merge the two gardens
into one. It was important that the new garden had different areas of interest and
looked mature from the very beginning.
For the front we used radiating natural stone paving and teak decking to integrate
a hot tub and concourse water feature. The concourse leads to an ornamental mosaic
pool that connects with a beautiful blue tiled rill. Water in the rill flows gently
down a series of steps to another pool in a seating area.
At the rear we constructed an Italian garden. An oak pergola and stone columns surrounding
a pool with ‘floating’ stepping stones help create a relaxed Mediterranean feel.
In another area is the romantic garden, for which we built
a summer house to overlook an ornamental lawn and rose garden. A key element is
a cascading natural stone water feature flowing underneath a teak bridge built into
a rose walkway.
Mature pleached Pyrus and Lime trees planted around the boundaries enhance the sense
of privacy.
Bartholomew Landscaping brought the garden to life based on an original concept
by the client’s landscape architects.
